Hello Friends,
Hope everyone is staying cool during this August heat!
Just wanted to drop a quick line and share my latest painting called Star Goddess with you. My inspiration to create her came from a variety of different pre-Christian creation myths from around the globe which all shared similar and beautiful stories of a cosmos creatrix. I was also inspired by Doreen Valiente's Charge of the Goddess poetry:
"Hear ye the words of the Star Goddess, she in the dust of whose feet are the hosts of heaven; whose body encircleth the Universe; I, who am the beauty of the green earth, and the white Moon among the stars, and the mystery of the waters, and the heart’s desire, call unto thy soul.”

I'm also happy to share the Hekate triple goddess illustration I created for Cyndi Brannen of Keeping Her Keys!

It's Leo Season! This is my painting called "Leo Moon", originally part of a Full Moon series that I started last year and never quite finished. We had a family emergency come up which took precedence for some time. When I got back to painting again, other paintings needed to be created, and this project was put on the back burner. I do plan to start back up with this series again in January 2021! All three of the original paintings sold, but if you have a Leo in your life or just like lions, I do have prints available of this painting both on paper AND wood as well as a variety of others here.
I’d also like to share that I am super proud of my sister Ruth Yakamura and Anna Griego for publishing their amazing book of poetry recently! I am honored they wanted to use my painting called Crow Moon for the cover of their book, also called Crow Moon. The book is filled with beautiful, deep poetic words of wisdom that will absolutely touch your soul. You're going to love it! You can purchase the book here.
