The Month of Love

Happy Month of Love!!!

How are you all? The new year for me started out rather rough, a dear friend of mine passed away in December and it was hard to get into that typical New Year's celebratory vibe that I genuinely feel each year, but now we have entered the second month of this brand new decade and I am starting to look forward to the different opportunities and collaborations on the horizon.

The most exciting art news I have to share is that I will be in the IX Arts Showcase this year! IX Arts, formerly IlluxCon, is an art gallery that happens annually in October in Reading, PA. IX Arts is dedicated and designed exclusively to showcase contemporary imaginative realism. This is both exciting and a bit intimidating to me!

In two weeks on Valentine's Day, I'm heading out to San Jose for the final PantheaCon.  PantheaCon is a 4 day conference for diverse beliefs including Indigenous, Earth Spiritualities, Pagans, etc. I will be setting up as a vendor there and will be selling prints of my work on both wood and paper. Vending is rather new to me, I have tried it out twice before but this will be my biggest vending opportunity yet. I will be sharing a booth with the Fairy Odd Mothers, so if you happen to be going, please come say hi!

I have also started the very early stages of artwork for an Oracle deck with author and hypnotherapist Kristin Dwan. Kristin is creating the content and writing the book for the deck and I am doing the illustrations. I can't show progress pictures yet, but will soon. I am really very excited about working on this deck!

I'm not committing to very many gallery shows this year as I already have my hands quite full with a full time job, health conditions, IX and the Oracle deck, but I will be participating in a Hive Gallery show coming up pretty soon (more details to come) as well as an exciting show that Deirdre Sullivan-Beeman is putting together of an Instagram Collective of artists of which I am a part called the FG Art Collective. The reception for that show will be at the Richard Montalban Theatre on Friday, April 10th from 7-10pm.  Hope to see you there!

As always, I love to hear from you so feel free to reply to this email. Connect with me on Facebook or Instagram.

Take care!

Mary
