Exploring the Possibilities

What happens when you begin a painting without knowing exactly where it will go?
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the possibilities of spontaneous creative expression through acrylic paint and mixed media. You’ll begin with simple prompts and an open approach to the canvas, allowing color, shape, texture, and imagery to develop naturally. As your painting takes shape, you’ll learn to look closely at what interests you and make intentional choices about where to take it next.
Through layering, experimentation, and observation, we’ll explore how a painting can develop from an unexpected beginning into something distinctly your own. The emphasis is on exploration, personal expression, and discovering possibilities within the painting— rather than following a prescribed image or technique. No previous painting experience is necessary. Come ready to experiment, try something
new, and see where the process leads.
Students bring their own canvas, sized 18x24 or larger, acrylic paints, palette, brushes, acrylic medium. Materials list on Destination Art Website. $100 10am-4pm
